What we offer (for physicians)
Neuropédiatrie Genève specializes in screening for neurodevelopmental disorders in children, following the DSM-V and CIM-11 diagnostic criteria. The screening is conducted by a pediatric neurologist, allowing us to detect not only common neurodevelopmental disorders but also those associated with underlying neurological conditions.
We specifically screen for the following conditions according to DSM-V criteria:
-
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
-
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
-
Intellectual disability (ID)
-
Specific learning disorders (formerly dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia)
-
Developmental language disorder (DLD) (formerly dysphasia), dysarthria, aphasia
-
Developmental coordination disorder (DCD) (formerly dyspraxia)
Who is this for?
This service is designed for children who show signs of neurodevelopmental disorders, such as:
-
Difficulties with attention, communication, learning, coordination, or social interaction
-
Signs of language, motor, or social skill impairments
-
More complex disorders that may be linked to underlying neurological conditions
With the expertise of our pediatric neurologist, we can diagnose and manage a wide range of neurodevelopmental disorders.

How it works?
-
The process starts with screening questionnaires and the collection of prenatal, perinatal, and postnatal history, as well as details about the child's development and general health
-
Following this, screening tests are conducted, and if necessary, additional assessments are arranged within our center or through our network of specialized professionals
-
After this initial assessment, a neurological consultation is performed. The child undergoes a complete neurological examination and a medical history is taken.
-
Once the screening is completed, we provide a personalized care plan, which may include:
- Medical treatment if required.
- Referral to a network specialist (psychologist, speech therapist, physiotherapist geneticists, etc.).
- Regular follow-ups to adjust treatment and support the child’s development.
We are committed to delivering high-quality, personalized care in a calm and supportive environment for both children and their families .

How can I prepare my child for a video EEG?
Before the appointment for a video-EEG you will receive a telephone call from our EEG nurse. She'll explain how the test works, and ask you a few questions to help you to adapt the test to your child's specific needs. You will also receive a document explaining the video-EEG procedure to you and your child.
